Tariki Juku is an alternative school based on an Equine Centered Form of Life.
We feed the horses, clean the stables, prepare meals, work together, and live through the changing seasons.
Learning does not happen only in a classroom. Through everyday life, we learn to feel, think, make decisions, and act with our own bodies.
During the high school years, we work in cooperation with Seisa International Academy to support the studies required for a high school graduation qualification.
Life and learning are not separated. Everyday life remains the foundation as we support each student’s path toward high school graduation.

Students continue their Equine Centered Form of Life at Tariki Juku while studying in cooperation with Seisa International Academy. We support each student in the learning required for high school graduation, according to their individual pace and circumstances.

Horses do not teach with words. They do not explain, and they do not judge.
Yet they respond directly to the condition of our bodies and to the way we relate to them.
We relate to horses, to people, and to the land.
By building these relationships day after day, we cultivate embodied knowledge and deepen our understanding of our relationship with the world.
How This Form of Life Works
Children Can Join
from Elementary School Age
This is not a program that begins only when a student reaches high school. Children can enter this Form of Life earlier and spend time developing relationships with horses, people, and the land.
We Share
Everyday Life
Participation is not limited to scheduled activity hours. Eating, sleeping, working, caring for horses, and the rhythm of the entire day are all part of the Form of Life.
Horses Are at the Center
of Our Life
This is not simply a place to learn riding techniques. Through the daily work of caring for the lives of horses, we cultivate embodied knowledge.
Working Toward
High School Graduation
During the high school years, students continue this Form of Life while studying in cooperation with Seisa International Academy toward a high school graduation qualification.
